A founding member of Foley Bullock, David provides strategic legal counsel to businesses at every stage of their lifecycle, from entity formation to succession and exit planning. His expertise spans a variety of business structures, including traditional corporations (C and S corporations), limited liability companies, and limited partnerships. David advises on a wide range of corporate and taxation matters including the structuring of asset and equity purchases and tax-free reorganizations and acquisitions.

David also assists startups and expanding businesses with securities offerings and private placement capital-raising activities advising on fundraising and deal documents, and federal and state securities filings.  

In addition to his corporate work, David implements sophisticated estate planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals and families. His solutions address transfer tax, income tax, and asset protection planning, ensuring clients achieve their financial and legacy goals.

David resides in Sullivan’s Island with his wife, son and daughter.

A founding member of Foley Bullock, Brent has been serving clients for over twelve years in the areas of taxation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and business formation and planning, private placement securities fundraising, foundational estate planning and irrevocable trust planning, trust and estate administration, trust decanting and modification transactions, charitable giving structures, and tax-exempt nonprofit planning.  He uses his expertise in tax law to deliver tailored tax strategies that enhance creditor protection and privacy.

Brent graduated cum laude from the Charleston School of Law before earning his LL.M. in Taxation from University of Florida Levin College of Law.  During his time in law school, Brent served in numerous leadership roles with the Estate Planning Law Society and the Tax Law Society. He also received the CALI Award for highest achievement in Estate Planning and Estate and Gift Taxation.

Brent and his family enjoy living in West Ashley.

Stephanie joined David and Brent in 2023 with over twenty years of experience in various accounting and finance leadership roles in small business, higher education, procurement, and corporate accounting.

An eternal scholar, she graduated at the top of her class from the Charleston School of Law before earning an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University. During law school, she was a member of the Charleston Law Review and the James L. Petigru American Inn of Court.

Prior to joining David and Brent, she served as General Counsel for West Liberty University gaining experience in statutory and regulatory compliance, intellectual property, labor and employment relations, contract drafting and negotiations, privacy matters, risk management and compliance, private placement bonds, real estate transactions, gas and oil leases, EEOC Claims, and overseeing outside counsel.

As an associate at Foley Bullock, she focuses on business and corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, estate planning, and tax planning, delivering sophisticated solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals, families, and businesses.

Stephanie resides in Mount Pleasant with her husband and two sons.

Gabrielle (“Gabby”) joined David and Brent as a law clerk in 2021 while pursuing her J.D. and returned as an Associate in 2023. As an Associate at Foley Bullock, she focuses on estate planning, tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, and business and corporate transactions, combining technical knowledge with personalized service to structure and negotiate business transactions, develop tailored estate plans, and craft tax-efficient strategies to limit liabilities.

Gabby completed her LL.M. in Taxation at Georgetown University where she graduated with Dean’s List distinction. Prior to her LL.M., Gabby attended the University of Maryland for law school. During law school Gabby served as the Executive Notes and Comments Editor for the Journal of Business & Technology Law; Secretary and Treasurer for the Student Bar Association; and President and Treasurer for the Women’s Bar Association. Gabby was also a Student Attorney in the Low-income Taxpayer Clinic. She honed her business acumen and legal skills during business, policy and legal internships with several government agencies, including the Department of Justice, the Department of the Treasury and the Office of the State’s Attorney for Baltimore City.

Gabby resides in West Ashley with her dog Maverick.
